Shared inbox tools
Every conversation, from web chat or any other inbox, has a status, a priority, an assignee and labels. Agents leave private notes for each other, mention a colleague to pull them in, and see when someone else is already replying.
All of this is free on every edition, with unlimited agents. This page describes the ASP.NET Core edition of DChat 2.0.7; the separate Web Forms package does not include the 2.0.5, 2.0.6 or 2.0.7 additions.
Open, pending, snoozed or resolved. A snoozed conversation reopens by itself at the time you choose.
Set a priority from low to urgent and give each conversation one owner, then filter the list by either.
Label conversations for reporting, and add private notes that the customer never sees.
When a colleague has the same conversation open or is typing a reply, a banner says so, so two agents do not answer the same customer.
Filter by status, assignee, priority, label and who handled it, and act on many conversations at once.
Invite another agent into a live chat, or transfer it to an agent or a department. The visitor sees who joined.

All of these are free on every edition.
Save a filter as a view for yourself or, as an administrator, for the whole team: up to 30 of each. The built-in Participating view lists conversations you are assigned to, have written in or were @mentioned in.
Ctrl+K or Cmd+K goes to a page, finds a conversation or contact, and assigns, resolves, snoozes, labels or runs a macro (macros are Premium) on the open conversation. Press ? for the list of single-key shortcuts: J and K to move, R to reply, N for a note, E to resolve, A to assign to yourself.
Type “in 3 hours”, “tomorrow 9am”, “next monday” or a date, in your own time zone, and see the wake-up time before you confirm. “Until the customer replies” is a preset.
Move one conversation into another. Messages and private notes join the kept conversation in time order, labels and attributes carry over, and the merged one stays behind, resolved and read-only, pointing to it.
Download a conversation as plain text or HTML, with or without private notes, or email it through your SMTP server. A Files panel lists every attachment in the conversation, and the contact page lists them across all of that contact’s conversations.
Each agent can set a reply signature that is added under their replies on every channel. Canned responses and away replies can use variables such as {{contact.name}}, {{agent.name}} or a contact attribute; a variable that has no value is highlighted for you to fill, never sent blank. Macros, which are Premium, can use them too.
Personal and team views sit above the list, with a count beside each.
Search, go to a page, or act on the open conversation.
The palette shows when the conversation will wake before you press Enter.
Pick the conversation to fold in; it stays behind, read-only.
Download or email a transcript, with private notes only if you tick the box.
Single-key shortcuts do nothing while you are typing, so they never take a letter of a reply.

Teams are free on every edition. Auto-assignment, which can be aimed at a team, is part of Premium.
Create teams such as Billing or Night shift, each with a name, icon, colour and members; an agent can be in several. Hand any conversation, from any department or channel, to a team and back. Departments still decide which queue a visitor waits in, so the widget does not change.
The conversation list filters by team or by “no team”, a saved view can keep the team, and Reports count conversations per team. Being in a team does not let an agent open more conversations than their role allows.
On Premium, auto-assignment can offer waiting chats only to one team’s members and hand the conversation to that team.
The page explains how teams differ from departments before you create one.
Type @ and a colleague's login in a private note. They get an entry on their Mentions page, with an unread count, and a browser push notification if they have turned notifications on.
Select up to 200 conversations and change their status, priority or assignee, or add and remove a label, in one step.
The conversation shows who else has it open and who is typing a reply, so a customer does not get two different answers.
Macros, automation rules and auto-assignment build on these tools and are part of Premium. Everything listed above stays free.
Yes. Statuses, priority, assignees, snooze, labels, private notes, mentions, bulk actions and collision warnings are all in the free Community edition.
Yes. An agent can invite a colleague into a live chat, or transfer it to another agent or a department.
A snoozed conversation leaves the open list and reopens by itself at the date and time you chose, up to a year ahead.
Add Premium only if you want automation rules, macros and auto-assignment on top.
