A multilingual live chat widget

If your visitors don't all speak the same language, your chat widget shouldn't either. DChat's widget ships in 33 languages, including right-to-left Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Urdu, and detects the visitor's language automatically.

33 languages built in

From Spanish and Portuguese to Arabic, Hindi, Korean and Chinese - Simplified and Traditional - 33 languages are included out of the box in the ASP.NET Core edition, free on every tier. Every label, prompt, and button in the widget is translated, so the whole visitor-facing interface reads naturally in each one.

Automatic detection

Set a language explicitly in the widget configuration, or let it fall back to the visitor's browser language. A French-configured browser gets the French interface with nothing extra to do, and a browser in Taiwan gets Traditional Chinese rather than Simplified.

Need another?

Need a language that is not on the list? A language is one block of translated interface strings, so tell us and it can ship in a regular release.

What "multilingual" means here - honestly

The interface is localized. The built-in languages translate the widget's own text: the greeting fields, the "Type your message" prompt, department and consent labels, the end-chat and rating screens. A visitor sees a chat window that feels native to them.

Live messages are shown as written. DChat does not machine-translate what your agents and visitors type - those appear in whatever language they were sent. That keeps conversations accurate and avoids translation mistakes on the words that matter most.

Message translation is a choice you can add. If you do want translated conversations, that's a separate capability you can build on top - for instance by routing through the self-hosted AI chatbot - rather than something the widget does silently.

Yours to extend

Your server, your visitors' language

The widget runs on your own server and picks its language in the visitor's browser, so nothing about a visitor's language leaves your infrastructure. Each language is fetched only when a visitor needs it, so adding languages did not make the widget heavier for everyone else.

Built in

33 languages, four of them right to left, with automatic detection from the browser language.

A new language is one block of translated strings - ask for it and it can ship in a regular release.

What languages does the DChat widget support?
In the ASP.NET Core edition the chat widget ships in 33 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Czech, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Greek, Romanian, Hungarian, Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Malay, and Chinese in both Simplified and Traditional characters. Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Urdu display right to left. These cover the widget's interface text - the labels, prompts, and buttons a visitor sees. The Web Forms edition's widget is English only.
Does the widget pick the visitor's language automatically?
Yes. The widget uses the language you set in its configuration, and if none is set it falls back to the visitor's browser language. A visitor whose browser is set to French sees the French interface without any extra step. Chinese follows the script: browsers in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau get Traditional characters, and every other Chinese browser gets Simplified.
Does DChat translate the actual chat messages?
No. The built-in languages localize the widget's own interface text, not the words your agents and visitors type. Live messages are shown as written. If you need message translation, that is a separate capability you would add yourself, for example through the AI chatbot.
Can I add a language that isn't included?
Tell us which language you need - adding one is a block of translated interface strings, so it can ship in a regular release. The download contains the compiled widget, not its source, so new languages come from us in a release.
Self-hosted customer support software

Deploy live chat on your own terms, not on someone else's pricing model.

DChat gives you the installable server, web dashboard, website widget, and desktop agent tools in one self-hosted product, with live chat free to run, and an AI agent that answers, acts with the approvals you set and hands off to your team when you want one. Run it on infrastructure you trust, on the model you choose.

Deployment

Install on Windows or Linux, behind IIS or Nginx, in a VM, or in Docker if that fits your stack.

Commercial model

Live chat is free with unlimited agents. Premium, with the AI agent, is billed per agent per month, never per conversation.

AI Flexibility

Run the AI agent on a local Ollama model, or connect OpenAI and Anthropic with your own provider accounts.
