AI-first chat with human handoff BYOK or Dchat-managed AI. White-label and IIS deployment path included.
Dchat

The questions that matter before a production rollout.

1 How is Dchat different from a typical hosted chat product?

Dchat keeps AI replies, human handoff, branding controls, knowledge tools, and the operator inbox close together. It also gives teams a choice between customer-managed and Dchat-managed OpenAI configuration, plus an IIS + SQL Server deployment path for production-minded environments.

2 How does the widget embed work?

The default path is a script tag with your widget token. After the initial embed, most tuning happens in the dashboard instead of requiring repeated code changes.

3 What happens when AI cannot handle the question?

The conversation moves to the human operator queue with the thread history still attached. Routing rules, handoff keywords, and direct visitor requests can all trigger that shift.

4 Can I choose how AI is configured?

Yes. Dchat supports a customer-managed OpenAI key or a Dchat-managed key, and workspace settings include model selection, prompts, and escalation behavior.

5 How does the knowledge base work?

Teams can add articles directly, import URLs, and use the site crawl flow so the assistant has grounded content to work from. That content is managed in the same workspace as routing and inbox operations.

6 What can I customize in the widget?

Launcher shape, colors, welcome message, starter prompts, proactive behavior, and white-label settings are all configured from the workspace.

7 What does the operator team get?

The current product surface includes a live inbox, typing indicators, canned responses, contacts, reports, knowledge base management, proactive chat, routing rules, and billing and workspace settings.

8 How is pricing structured?

Dchat publishes separate seat prices for Dchat-managed AI, customer-managed AI, and human operators. The pricing page reflects the current defaults in the application.

9 Can Dchat be self-hosted?

Yes. The repo includes an IIS + SQL Server deployment flow for teams that want a production deployment path aligned with that environment.

10 What should I validate before using Dchat in production?

Validate AI prompts, routing, retention, provider settings, and any security or compliance requirements specific to your environment. The current release does not claim broad industry certifications by default.
